For concert nights at the amphitheater, the venue's own shuttle runs from overflow parking in the adjacent field, but a charter bus drops your group at the main entrance without any of that. The drive from Berkeley via I-580 East runs about 45–55 minutes depending on traffic through Castro Valley.
Oakland Museum of California (1000 Oak St, Oakland, CA 94607) occupies a tiered garden building near Lake Merritt designed by Kevin Roche, with three floors covering California's art, history, and natural sciences. Open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Friday to 9 p.m.).
